pumpkin hat

More pumpkins!  This time I've got a cute little pumpkin hat to show you.  I make a couple of these every year but this year, my daughter's preschool teacher and some of the other mom's there are keeping my hands super busy with orders for 4 of these guys!  They are super easy to knit and don't take too much time.  I put on the tv at night and knit away.

pumpkin hat stem

This is your basic, run of the mill, hat pattern but at the top you add a little i-cord "stem".   I followed the same type of pattern as my Hang It Up Baby Hat.  With the smaller weight yarn, you'll just need to cast on more stitches.  For this infant hat, I cast on 70 stitches.  When you get to the decreases, instead of starting with k4 sts, k2tog...you should start with k8, k2tog and then continue in the decreasing pattern each time just lowering your number (k7, k2tog; k6, k2tog; etc...).

If you don't want to make your own, I might be persuaded to add a few more onto my queue.  Use the contact button to the left if you're interested in making an order.  Prices vary depending on the size.

Omigosh. This is just about enough to get me to start knitting. You know how I luvs the pumpkins, and this would be perfect for Cole. Too bad I’m on crazy over-drive busy this month.

Still having issues with you not on my reader. I’m gonna delete you for a few days and then see what happens. Guess I’ll just have to keep up with you on Facebook for now!
