For the past several Monday afternoons, I've been hanging out at an elementary school teaching some great kids how to knit!  It was slow starting but by the last week, most of them had made some real progress!

The class was open to Kindergarten-5th Graders.  If I teach the class again, I'd suggest it be open only for 3rd-5th.  I'd also limit the class size to 6-8.

The first couple of weeks were tough and I wished I had a helper!  But the last three class sessions were great!  Some of the kids had picked it up well enough to help the others and it was a fun time to be able to get to know the kids a little better.

Did you learn to knit when you were a kid?

I think they liked the class!

What a great thing to do! I loved to do anything crafty when I was younger, and it’s so great to teach a skill to a child.
