I have some of the most amazing friends.  One of my husband's former grad students (he's a professor) had a baby and I threw a shower for her over the weekend.  Her mom is visiting her from China for several months to help with the baby.  She knows that I love to knit and her mom does, too.  They gifted this yarn to me the at the end of the baby shower.  Unlike my husband (at times), they knew exactly what I wanted!

I don't read Chinese so I don't know the content.  It's a fingering weight, though.  The color is absolutely perfect, too.  This OU fan loves crimson!  There is plenty of yardage to really make whatever I want.  However, I'd really like to make the mom something special.

I've got a few ideas but I'm leaning towards a shawl.  Here are a couple of options:
