Last night I was at a party for Provo Craft's new product, the Cricut Imagine. I'll share more about the product in the next few days (I have some videos to upload and edit) but for now I wanted to show you a bit of the entertainment from the party. They brought in a performance artist, David Garibaldi. He wowed us with his speed painting to amazing music. As you can imagine (pun intended), he painted images that had to do with inspiration and imagination.
He threw in the Cricut logo ...

Several years ago, President Gordon B. Hinckley (of the LDS Church), gave a talk where he outlined what are now known as "The Six Be's". He later added a few more but I decided to use the original six for this project.
Using my Gypsy, I laid out all of the text (from the Simply Sweet font cartridge). To make it big enough for my wall, divided the saying into two parts. The first bit of text goes until "Be humble". I used brown vinyl, my Cricut, and a 12" X 24" cutting mat.

I predominately work on a laptop. It is all mine. I'm really used to using my touchpad and haven't used a mouse for a couple of years. This weekend, I'm having some strangers use my computer to help me do some usability testing for a client of Toolulu. Having a mouse for them to use was kind of important. I found a freebie mousepad I received from CHA and decided to personalize it!

THE PROCESS:
1. Measure your mousepad. Mine was 7.5" X 7.75". Using my Gyps...

I've been crafting a lot from the Target dollar spot lately. What can I say? They've had some super cute stuff lately. I was there last week and saw some really cute buckets. They weren't just plain buckets. They had ribbon tied around the top through a couple of holes.
I personalized the bucket for each girl using my Cricut Expression. I cut out letters using the Simply Sweet font cartridge. I can't remember the exact size I used but it is around 1". I cut them out of green v...

I used my Cricut and my Gypsy to make this iron on applique for my daughter's St. Patrick's Day t-shirt. Using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge that came with my machine, I manipulated the letters using my Gypsy to make them all one image. If you don't have a Gypsy (or software that will allow you to do this with your Cricut), you could just cut out the individual letters and iron them on one at a time.
Cutting fabric with the Cricut is easy. I cut a 12" X 12" piece of fabric and li...

We had a big birthday weekend. My daughter celebrated her 5th birthday. My baby. She also lost her first tooth. I'm getting some major cosmic hints that my little girl is growing up. Thanks! I get it! Way to rub it in! For her special day I wanted to make her a special card. She loves pink and sparkles (who doesn't?).
I used my Cricut Wild Card cartridge to make the card and matching envelope. The designer paper was some that we had on hand when I was doing the demos...

Cutting your own vinyl lettering and images is really easy with the Cricut but so many people don't try it because it looks a bit intimidating. I made a video to show you just how simple it is to do. On the video I am cutting out letters to put on a bucket I got from the Target $1 spot. Did you see the vinyl on the vase from yesterday? I'm sensing a theme. I wonder what else I can find from there to adhere my vinyl to?
To cut vinyl with your Cricut, you'll need some supplies.

I spent a lot of time cutting vinyl during my days doing the Cricut demos. This is one of the items I made. I found the vase in the dollar spot at Target. It was one of the $2.50 items. *digression--why do they call it the dollar spot if not everything is a dollar? Don't get me started on Dollar General.*
I used the Storybook cartridge. It is one of my all time favorites. I used the cherry blossom cut out using the fit to length feature (4"). I cut out two of them and placed t...

Today is my last day doing Cricut demos. I'll miss hanging out with my crafty friends and cutting stuff out on the Cricut for hours and hours a day. I won't miss the being on my feet, lugging boxes, and Costco snack bar. Over the next couple of days I'm going to show you some of the cool things I've been making.
The first day I focused on making these nesting dolls using the Paisley cartridge. That cartridge has a whimsical style and involves a lot of layering. I don't mind layering...
